Dawn Of The Cello

Back on track! For those of you who know of my love for drawing cavemen... I have now re-centered myself in the universe! Yaaaay!
So... what if a musical instrument were miraculously invented WAY too soon??? Anything is possible in my world. heh heh.

  4. hhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm...this makes me sit here and think what other things were invented way before their time. I love all the subtle detail in this, especially the turtle shell tambourine. You really have such a gifted eye for editorializing the image. Great work on the cello and I so admire your deft hand with color.
Thanks so checking in and asking about the conference. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I will do a detailed blog post about it this weekend. I certainly didn't come away with an agent, but a MG author published by Random House did take my promo card to pass along to her editor because she thought my work would fit in great there. In summary I heard: your work is perfect for Middle Grade/Tween market, I have a great vintage quality to my work, I handle digital fairly well, and the best piece in my portfolio was my blonde character study. Now I am trying to figure out my direction and which oar to tip into the water. Sorry to be so verbose - it was just so kind of you to ask! Made my day.

  5. I tried to play my harmonica during a philharmonic performance, that didn't work out either.

  6. I think what I like most about this is Grok's expression. He looks like he's just so lost in the music, haha!

  7. Oh my, this is great! My brother is a jazz/blues bassist (he actually started on the cello!)-- he hosts a weekly open jam session & I'm certain it sometimes feels like this! %\

  12. I'm so curious to know what their sound is like. They don't do easy-listening, don't they? I expect something much more interesting!
