Ventriloquists Of The Wild West

Just a quickie here, been kind of busy with work. I don't know if it's that funny but it was certainly fun to draw.
I wonder if there was ever a time when people thought that ventriloquist dummies were actually talking to them? And I wonder when the first ventriloquist waltzed into town to try it out?

  1. I can assure you Ted, it is funny, as always. Yes, I don't think I would like to try it out in the old west, thats a very scary propisition!

  3. Nice drawing Ted, I like much when you draw more complex characters like these!
But what is this big guy gonna do anyway, as he seems he is not even carrying a gun. ;)

  4. Yeah, he looks pretty docile, but like most he's right-handed, so his gun holster is on the other side. I should have flopped the image, wasn't thinking.

  5. No, it definitely is THAT funny! Yeah, the three expressions sell this one for sure, and I don't know if it's just me or not, but the ventriloquist and dummy look similar to the ones from the Batman pantheon where it's a ventriloquist and scarface dummy :)

  9. Yeah, but can he swig his beer AND make the dummy talk at the same time? HA, love the way the big guy dwarfs the table. I sure hope the little guy's pistol works or else he'll have a lifetime of toothpicks. Another winner, Ted! Hehehehehee

So you always start with the best first? Not me. I always save the best for last. I guess if we ever go to the carnival together, you can start on that end, and I'll start on this end, and we can meet up at the zero-gravity drop.

    Have a great weekend! :D
