He's SO Popular!

Some of us have it, and some of us don't. King has 'It'.

I read somewhere recently that the great silent star Douglas Fairbanks had 'it' too. Evidently, when a party was thrown it wasn't really a party until he showed up, and when he left, the party was over. I've read that Chico Marx had it; but he still made whoever he talked to feel as though THEY were the most interesting person in the world. On the other hand, when you were with Harpo Marx there was no doubt HE was the most interesting person in the world.

Here's someone else who had 'it'. Clara Bow. She made the word famous when she made a movie called "It" in the 1920s. She was the first 'It' girl. If you haven't seen it, I recommend.

That's all the ramblings I have for tonight. Your thoughts?

  1. Oh yes! Some people just make a party happen no matter where they are. I just wanted to comment here because I am in Seoul, Korea. Hello Ted!

  4. To me, Clara King has 'it' but King doesn't have 'it' (which is probably a good sign!)..Nice post Ted!

  5. Hmm, interesting. It must be stressful being an "it" person because they're "it" now, but soon people will change what 'it' is and what they are will no longer be "it" anymore.

  6. Oh yes, King has It all right. Look at that swagger. He could be wearing a Swatch, and he'd still have It.

I have arrived. Let the party begin!

  11. Totally agree that some people just have this undeniable cosmic energy that makes them positively magnetic. I am not one of them so therefore am classified as 'not it' which came it really handy on the playground.
I totally dig KING and his watch.

  12. King is clearly top dog, with or without watch.
But for a different King's take on It:

But KING: is he wearing Breitling Chrono-Matic QP Red Gold Limited Edition, I can not see IT properly...

I think Clara had IT a bit too much. Interesting.

  20. King certainly has IT !!
I love Clara Bow,I even made a cartoon of her a while ago :)
She was not only beautiful but had an amazing presence onscreen.
Too bad her life was so sad :(
I think Valentino and Louise Brooks also had tons of it.

  21. No, no, no people . . . Barney Fife had "it". All the people in town would gather round when he spoke and then disperse when he said "disperse". I know, nip it, nip it, nip it!! Regarding watches I'm sure Barney had just a Timex he bought in Mount Pilot an he still had "it". Ok, I'm done. Great toon Ted!
