Bunny Boot Camp!

This cartoon idea was originally drawn for the Disney TV newsletter back in the mid '90s (when I was working there) and people liked it, but in order to fit the Illustration Friday word 'Vocal' I decided to completely redraw it and make it more extreme to fit the word. Now it's REALLY loud and vocal. I also dressed it up with a spiffy egg frame. Hope you like.
Don't worry: No bunnies were actually harmed while making this cartoon. heh heh.

  4. I love this sick stuff Ted as you can imagine...this made me laugh!
Fluffy is a great example of sloppy easter bunnying!! BTW in answer to your question about the cartoon that you pulled...I am disappointed because I didn't get to see it!! My blogger dashboard had indicated that you had posted something...I read the text you had written about no bunnies were hurt during the making etc and was immediately attracted...got to this blog and it wasn't here...so I can't tell you what I thought...!

    1. Now you've edited the above text Ted, it makes a bit more sense...this was the cartoon that you pulled...It doesn't make my above comment make much sense to any one else, but sometimes that is what makes our lives an interesting mystery.I must admit...I thought you had pulled something a lot meaner and replaced it with this (what I thought, was the soft new version!)This is excellent and not nearly as mean as it could have been...you are a softie really!!! Happy Easter!

  6. I apologize for cluttering your comment section but after reading my comment and seeing all the typos, I sound like I typed my comment in some foreign language and Blogger translated it. So here is the edited version:

Oh my goodness!!! Mr. Blackman! Why I never. A satirist with a heart? Hehehhee. Isn't that an oxymoron? Oooohhh you are warm and fuzzy! Okay. Okay. Wow. Now, I am more touched by your words and expressed feelings towards your illustration than the actual illustration. I thought your comics were always funny and it can only be funny if it is not mean. You have never been mean. I mean, seriously. A blessed Easter to you. "What's up!" :)

    1. Yes, Ces, I do have a heart. The satire is just my protective wall I surround myself with :) Once I spilled my guts about things I was over it, so I deleted the mushy stuff. ha ha heh heh ho ho. Thank you for the nice comment. And you're right, it can only be truly funny if it's not too mean.

  7. And that, my friends, is how we get jelly beans.

This gave me a good chuckle! MAN, the size of that bell, Ha! And yes, oh yes, that frame is absolutely awesome. It would have lasted all of five minutes in my house. Have a wonderful Easter!

  8. Compared to what would face Fluffy in my house the home alarm system would be preferable. I have a dog that would love little bunabs to come a calling.

A super gag as always Ted

  10. Glad to say no evidence of such a happening in our house this morning (Easter Sunday here today) I think we would have seen a few little brown drops around (that were not actually chocolate) if the bunny got caught in the alarm like fluffy did.
Happy Easter Ted and thanks for bringing your own specail kind of joy to the rest of us throughout the year!

OAT, are the initial letters of the words Olor a Trementina which means Smell of Turpentine
(Once, I thought my blog would only be to show my oil paintings, ha ha, sometimes my stupidity has no limits)

  13. I have to admit I am totally enchanted by that egg frame. Those lovely metallic egg thingers. Not made of good chocolate, I might add, and yet I would gleefully eat them. After the egg frame, the best part is that row of rather alarmed (ha!) bunnies. Well done, sir!

  14. Funny! I wonder if Santa sends his elves to the same boot camp? I really like the way you did the alarm and the border.

  15. The expression on the recruits is priceless!! Poor Fluffy! He looks like he was electrocuted from the magnitude of that alarm!
