Oh boyyy... this is going to be BIG! REALLY big! Will Bippo, Jingles, Boffo and Chuckles make it to the big-top exits in time???

    1. That's funny, Lynn. Bippo's Zippo. Why didn't I think of that?
Did you know Jingles likes Pringles?

  3. I knew it... the one with the zippo is the culprit.

  4. Now I know how the universe started...Will Bippo and his Zippo!
I think the fuse has been cut short by Chuckles and none of them will escape the joys of hospital food!
Great atmosphere in this one, the colours and the tension!!!

    1. You're right, Rod, that fuse IS awful short. Seems everything is getting smaller but the prices still go up. But it's a cartoon world; if 4 clowns explode into blood mist they can just reassemble in the next story panel. All good in cartooning.

  5. You'd think that they'd learn to use a longer fuse by now! Nice use of color and shadow.

  6. I love the energy of it! And they all have such hilariously freaked out expressions. Love the white glow of the eyes! So Ted, if we tune in next week... will it be a gruesome post-explosion clown body parts horror? (Or perhaps, being cartoon clowns, they escape.. or perhaps they each lose one limb. Or perhaps... wait, this is your job.) ;P

    1. It's just too horrible to think they don't make it, I'd rather not imagine the carnage of that scene. Let's just assume they all made it out with nothing more than ringing ears and a nose bleed.

  7. I wish I had a serial series of personal concepts like these, Ted. You have your own universe full of clowns and cavemen and talking animals - that's pretty cool. That one clown in the upper right is a goner, he jumped too soon. He'll still fall within the kill zone of the blast radius. RIP

  8. Just love the "oh shit!" expressions on their faces! (Can I say that? Well, I just did....) The use of color & shadow to create that glow of the fuse is so effective! It just adds to the panic!!!

Eh ....... so the Big Bang was caused by four clowns?
Now I understand why the world is as it is!!!!!!!!

    2. Yes, Roberto is very funny. He's worried that because his wife is knitting him a sweater that he might spontaneously combust soon. You have to go to Rod's blog to even remotely understand what that means. Good luck. ha ha.

  11. Ha, ha! Nice colors. Real fear . . . you can see the whites of their eyes. So, is this a Clown Safety Meeting? O.S.H.A. would be upset because of the lack of goggles and lack of fire retardant outfits, he, he!

  13. The old 'underestimated explosive' thing eh, serves them right... but I do so hope they make it out in time :)
